Trivia: The film was originally to be called “The Woods” but another film from MGM was already using that name, so the title had to be changed to “The Village”.

Goofs: Plot holes: The village is supposed to be totally isolated. However, their windows are glazed, clothes rather elaborate, they use metal cooking utensils and kerosene lamps; none of these the village is equipped to produce. There is no trace of agricultural land of size necessary to feed the village, either.
